Lisa & Kevin’s Wedding in Tropical Paradise

SunQuest bride Lisa Harris brought her family and friends from all over the states to celebrate her nuptials with her groom, Kevin. Her guests traveled from Wisconsin, Washington, North Carolina, Texas, and a handful of other states to bury their toes in the Florida sand as Kevin and Lisa said, “I Do”.

Lisa chose bright and saturated colors to create a tropical paradise wedding, complete with sequined golds, and dark lush greenery with coral and turquoise taking the center stage.

“Lisa came in with a vision!” says Courtney, her wedding planner, “And it was so exciting bringing it to life! She knew she wanted teal, coral, and tropical so we came up with Monstera leaves on her plate chargers and worked together to find the perfect napkin color that beautifully matched her floral recipe.”

Rehearsal Dinner

Lisa and Kevin opted for a Bonfire Rehearsal Dinner through SunQuest, completed by a s’mores bar and toasts around the campfire! But, the Florida weather had other plans. Fortunately, the SunQuest Weddings Design Studio had just been completed and ended up being the ideal event space for a rain backup plan. The Rifle Paper Co. studio wallpaper illustrated peacocks and banana leaves, that screamed Lisa’s name!

After some shuffling around of the office desks, we were able to transform the studio into an event space. The hot dog bar was charming, and there was just enough room for a chocolate fountain and giant Jenga! To top everything, the family was able to take stunning portraits outside, at the nearby golf course.

Ceremony

Lisa and Kevin said their vows at Henderson Beach State Park – a personal favorite of SunQuest Beach Wedding planners, offering the best parking space and one of the only venues that will block off a portion of the beach to ensure the most privacy!

Because Henderson Beach is a state park, fresh petals are not permitted. The substitute? Dried starfish that is natural to the environment and perfect to fit any beach wedding theme. Lisa and Kevin’s flower girls delicately tossed their starfish and smiled as they watched the cute sea stones fall to the sand!

The flower girls continued to live up to their title, despite the “no petals” rule, by sporting fresh flower crowns! The two girls, Maren & Mallory, were happy to have a special souvenir to bring home after the wedding.

As guests stepped out onto the sand, they were greeted with a sweet spot to leave their shoes, further welcoming them into the ceremony space.

The aisle was lined with palm leaves on either side, as shepherd hooks daintily hung fresh floral aisle markers over top. Your eyes couldn’t help but follow down the aisle to the show-stopping gold ring adorned with giant monstera leaves, tropical greenery, and bright, bold pops of coral, fuschia, yellow, and white.

The ceremony scene was truly a tropical paradise as the waves of the Emerald Coast softly crashed in the background!

Reception

After vows were said and portraits were taken, the guests made their way over to the SOLARIS Yacht at the Baytowne Marina for the reception. Lisa privately rented the 2nd deck, perfectly placed next to the bar!

Lisa continued to expand her tropical paradise into the reception space, by incorporating her turquoise and coral wedding colors into her reception decor. The most show-stopping piece of it all – her head table installation that displayed two gorgeous giant monstera leaves draped over the table.

The guest tablescapes were fitted with all the frills! Lisa’s centerpieces were tropically lush arrangements in antique gold urns, sitting over-top 3 fresh monstera leaves and a sequined gold runner. Each place setting had a gold plate charger, fresh monstera leaf, and coral satin napkin – all things feminine, shiny, and glamorous! The gold chivari chairs matched beautifully, and the turquoise organza bows both literally and figuratively tied it all together.

After the sunset, the room was lit up with turquoise-colored uplights – setting the mood to dance the night away! Lisa and Kevin’s guestbook consisted of a customized wooden portrait of Disney’s UP house, and each guest was asked to sign a balloon. The night ended with the ever-iconic sparkler send-off!

We loved getting to celebrate such a fun, whimsical creative couple!
