It was a perfect fall day to celebrate the love of Wesley and Karley with a stunning Destin Florida wedding and reception on the SOLARIS yacht. Their love began at Auburn University and it was one of the many things that tied them together. We all know how the South feels about their College Football Teams and Wesley and Karley were no exception. In fact, the Auburn College Football schedule took priority over the scheduling of their wedding. The most important thing about fall to them is watching Auburn football and luckily Auburn was not playing on Saturday, Oct 27th which made the perfect wedding day for them.
Although there was no Auburn football that day, Wesley and Karley’s passion for Auburn was apparent throughout the entire Destin wedding. They chose Auburn colored garters adorned with football charms. Probably our favorite way that they personalized their wedding was with an Auburn Pom Pom send off. At the close of their reception, Karley and Wesley paraded through a sea of white pom poms shaken by their guests while the newlyweds were holding their prized Auburn pom poms.
The lasting memory Karley has from the last wedding she attended was how stressed the bride was, so finding an all-inclusive Destin wedding venue and all-inclusive wedding company like SunQuest Cruises was extremely important to her. With their busy daily lives, Karley and Wesley needed a team of local experts to help them with all the expected (and unexpected!) details before, during and after their Destin wedding. Wesley is in the construction industry and Karley is a veterinarian. In fact, Karley was helping aid animals affected by Hurricane Michael just weeks before their wedding.
A Dream Destin Wedding
Our wedding planners worked closely with Karley and Wesley to get to know them as a couple and execute their personalized vision for their Destin wedding. The couple envisioned a traditional Destin wedding that was romantic and elegant. Their wedding featured a stunning color scheme of silver and grey, embellished with pearls, lace and a ton of Caspar (white) pumpkins. Our wedding planners arranged elegant cream and white roses for the bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces.
The stunning focal point of the wedding decor was the bridal platform of the SOLARIS Yacht sky deck. Our wedding planners adorned the arch with breathtaking arrangements of cream and white roses with green accents, candles and a cross centerpiece, all surrounded by Caspar pumpkins. Wesley and Carley also remembered their loved ones in heaven and paid tribute to them with touching signs with their names on them.
Karley stunned in a white lace wedding dress that fit her like a glove, with her hair swept up to show the intricate lace cut-out details on the back of her dress. She chose a romantically elegant floor length veil that perfectly complemented her dress and draped the floor behind her. And their photographer perfectly captured the first-look moments of Karley in her dream dress before the wedding.
Their Destin wedding photographer, Noelle from Capture Destiny, is a preferred SOLARIS photographer who is familiar with the SOLARIS yacht wedding venue and perfectly captured each special moment. Some of our favorite pictures are the first-look moments between Karley and her dad and another between Karley and her soon-to-be husband. Their expressions were priceless!
It was a picture perfect fall day in Sandestin for Wesley and Karley’s wedding on the sky deck of the SOLARIS yacht as glistening waters and sweeping views served as the backdrop. Everyone gathered on the third, open air sky deck including their guests, our officiant Captain Steve, Wesley and their wedding party consisting of 4 bridesmaids and 4 groomsmen. Karley’s Dad proudly walked her down the aisle to meet her love at the altar, so beautifully adorned with their custom flowers and decor. Karley’s veil draped down the altar stairs, a romantic touch to this amazing wedding.
Their Reception
After a touching wedding that was sealed with a kiss, Karley and Wesley took pictures with their family and wedding party while guests moved down to the main deck for the reception. Our wedding planners carried their colors and themes throughout the reception. Reception decor included silver chairs and long banquet tables draped with white linens and silver-toned lace linens along with gorgeous white rose centerpieces and mini white Caspar pumpkins. Guests enjoyed unlimited views of the Sandestin resort coastline and waters from all the panoramic windows. Crystal chandeliers hung throughout the dining rooms, complimenting the glistening waters nearby.
Wesley and Karley had their first dance as husband and wife as well as dances with their family and friends throughout the main deck. Guests enjoyed a decadent wedding menu prepared by executive Chef Josh and his team, including prime steaks. For dessert, Karley and Wesley had a beautiful silver and white cake with lace details and white rose accents by our wedding planners.
After their Auburn pom pom exit, Karley and Wesley snuck away across the street to the beach with their wedding party to capture a few more amazing pictures. A perfect ending to a perfect wedding for a perfect couple. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness and blessings Wesley and Karley!
