Where do we begin with these two???? Keely and Jeff are truly the epitome of fun and our wedding planners had a blast helping them plan their Florida destination wedding. Keely and Jeff chose our Destin wedding package that included a Destin Beach Wedding and a yacht reception aboard the SOLARIS – the best of both worlds to showcase our beautiful area to their guests.
As they branded it, Keely and Jeff’s “Destin-ation” wedding took place on a breathtaking day in May in Destin Florida. They used the custom wedding hashtags – #HERESTOUS #DESTINATION2019 – to help them and their guests collect all the fun memories from their Florida destination wedding.
How It All Began
Keely and Jeff met in 2011 and were family friends. After a tragedy hit them, their friendship blossomed into an unlikely love story. After several years of dating Jeff had “the talk” with his kids Lauren, Morgan and Reagan. Although this was not the life they had foreseen for their family, they gave him their blessing to ask for Keely’s hand in marriage.
It was an emotional time for everyone waiting for the big day to arrive. Jeff had arranged a private Gondala ride during a trip to Italy to “pop” the question. So in Venice, after a long flight, sleep deprivation and an amazing first night wondering aimlessly along the streets, Jeff got down on one knee in their Gondola named “Leonardo” and ask Keely to spend the rest of her life with him in marriage….She said YES!
Their Destin Beach Wedding
Keely and Jeff wanted their Destin-ation wedding to be an all-inclusive and stress-free experience for them and their guests so they chose the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Their Florida destination weekend included on-site accommodations for their guests with tram service to all entertainment and dining options.
Our wedding planners helped Keely and Jeff plan a gorgeous and unforgettable “Toes in the Sand” wedding at the John Beasley Park in Fort Walton Beach. Guests were greeted with custom signage and bubbles as they sunk their toes into the sugar white sand and took a seat on white wedding benches that were front and center to the bamboo arbor and emerald green waters. Our wedding planners customized the bamboo arbor with romantic flowing fabrics and a beautiful blend of summer flowers with a touch of greenery.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the couple paid homage to both of their native lands by singing the National Anthem and Canada’s National Anthem. Turquoise and white were the themed colors for Keely and Jeff’s Destin wedding, a perfect compliment to the emerald green waters. The bridesmaids wore sleeveless turquoise dresses while the groomsmen wore turquoise and white printed shirts with khaki pants. Jeff wore a white button down shirt for the beach wedding while Keely stunned in a floor length, sleeveless white wedding dress that flowed in the coastal breezes.
Their Destin Beach wedding was full of memorable moments. At one point, the entire bridal party got a beer to drink during the wedding which got everyone laughing away. When it was time for Jeff to read his wedding vows, we kid you not, he busted out a scroll. Absolutely hilarious!!! A sand ceremony during their Destin Beach wedding was very important to Keely and Jeff to have their kids involved in the wedding and celebrate the blending of their families.
As Keely and Jeff departed the altar as husband and wife, guests greeted them with bubbles while they walked the white beaches. The bridal party immediately followed with their beers and custom koozies in hand. =)
Their Yacht Reception
Keely and Jeff made their “Destin-ation” wedding the best of all worlds with a Destin beach wedding and a yacht reception on the SOLARIS yacht. The SOLARIS yacht venue is conveniently located at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort so their guests could stay on-property and have an all-inclusive, stress free experience.
The fun didn’t stop at the wedding either. Our wedding planners continued the color theme into their yacht reception with nautical and coastal themed centerpieces with accents of turquoise. After a cocktail reception and sunset wedding pictures aboard the SOLARIS yacht. guests enjoyed a three-course meal prepared by our chefs while cruising the local waters.
For their first dance as husband and wife, Keely and Jeff surprised their guests with a Grease dance reenactment with an unforgettable Sandy and Danny first dance. Complete with a black leather jacket for Keely and a letterman sweater for Jeff, these two stole the show with a first dance that we’ll never forget.
